After you’ve done that, open the supply line on the outside and let all trapped water out.
This will make sure that the pipe doesn’t expand and burst, a problem you will not know you have until you decide to water your grass the following spring. This can be especially messy because the escaping water will end up running through the walls and floors of your home or business.
